ExploreLearning Math Grants Campaigns

Since 2021, I’ve led the creative direction for ExploreLearning’s Math Grants program, transforming separate Reflex and Frax campaigns into a unified brand. I've created the logo, campaign themes, and visual systems across web, email, social, and video. Highlights include Path to Success (2023), a space-themed fractions journey, and Unlock the Keys to Success (2024–25), a keyhole-and-pathway metaphor symbolizing opportunity. Across every round, the campaigns use bold, student-centered visuals to inspire educators and make the grant application process feel exciting and impactful.

Math Grants

The Challenge

The ExploreLearning Grants program provides free access to math solutions but needed a strong creative presence to stand out in the crowded education landscape. Each round required a fresh theme while maintaining long-term brand consistency and trust.

Key challenges included:

  • Building excitement and trust for educators to apply for classroom grants
  • Designing distinct yearly campaign identities that tied into product themes (fractions, fact fluency)
  • Evolving from two separate product campaigns into a unified Math Grants brand
  • Creating flexible assets for multi-channel execution (site, email, social)

The Process

  • Logo & Brand Identity: Designed the Math Grants logo for long-term recognition and consistency.
  • Campaign Themes:
    • Frax Grants 2023 – Path to Success: Space exploration visuals tied to fractions, showing students as explorers on a journey.
    • Math Grants 2023–24 – Unlock the Keys to Success: Key and keyhole metaphors, visual pathways, and bright student-centered imagery to represent opportunity.
  • Visual Systems: Created graphics, animations, and illustrations for landing pages, social media campaigns, and email outreach.
  • Art Direction: Balanced playful student-focused visuals with professional polish for educator audiences.
  • Multi-Channel Delivery: Ensured campaign consistency across web, email, video, paid and organic social.

The Outcome

  • Successfully transitioned ExploreLearning’s grants from product-based campaigns into a unified Math Grants identity.
  • Facebook stats from the Math Grants 2024-2025 program through August 2025.
    • 15,083,766 impressions
    • 225,895 engagements
    • 149,701 clicks
    • over 3k applications (attributable)
  • Created continuity across years while keeping each round visually fresh and thematic.

Reflection / Takeaways
