Virtual Career Day

The marketing team launched ExploreLearning’s first Virtual Career Day to inspire students by showing them real career paths from real professionals. I directed the creative execution — from event structure and branding, to video editing, to building and launching the experience in our CMS.

The Challenge

How do you bring career inspiration to classrooms in a scalable, accessible way? Traditional career days are limited to local professionals, but ExploreLearning wanted a way to give students nationwide access to diverse voices and stories in STEM.

Constraints included:

  • Ensuring videos were classroom-ready and age-appropriate
  • Designing a clean, branded experience within CMS limitations
  • Coordinating submissions from multiple professionals across industries

The Process

  • Concept: Defined the vision for a digital, on-demand career day reusable by educators.
  • Content Gathering: Developed outreach and recording guidelines for professionals.
  • Design & Branding: Created a fresh, student-friendly landing page aligned with brand standards.
  • Video Production: Edited and standardized video submissions using Premiere Pro/After Effects.
  • Build & Launch: Developed the landing page in CMS with easy navigation and video playback.

The Outcome

  • Resource adopted by educators as a classroom-ready tool
  • Positive feedback from teachers and students on accessibility and inspiration
  • Continues to live on explorelearning.com as a long-term, non-product resource that supports brand trust and teacher relationships

Reflection / Takeaways

  • Reinforced ability to lead projects from concept through execution across design, video, and development.
  • Demonstrated the value of providing authentic, non-commercial content to educators.
  • Balanced creative direction with technical problem-solving inside a constrained CMS environment.
